Alma Jean Barker

Barker (Pence), Alma Jean, age 89, of Middletown, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at her residence. She was born September 18, 1928 in Pence, KY to Logan Pence Sr. and Lula Josephine (Sheffield) Pence. Alma Jean was Director of Service to Military Families for The American Red Cross of Middletown. She was a dedicated member of Yankee Road First Church of God, sang in the Delbert Barker Gospel Trio, enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Alma Jean is survived by her husband of 65 years, Delbert Barker; son, Delbert Barker Jr.; sisters, Patty Rhea McCray and Fern Drury; and numerous nieces, nephews, and family. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Beulah Spencer, Flossie Rose, Vergie King, Fred Pence, Cova Barnett, Warren Pence, Ova Pence, and Logan Pence Jr. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 10:00 am -12:00 pm at Yankee Road First Church of God, 3029 Yankee Road Middletown, OH 45044. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 pm at the church. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
