ROOSA, (Evans) Bertha (Bert), 89, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 14, 2018. Bert was born April 3, 1928 in Middletown, OH to Felix and Annie Evans. Bert was a joy to all who knew her. Her love for the Lord was evident, prayed the prayer of salvation with many throughout her life, and led Bible studies with various groups. Bert was a multi-talented artist and worked alongside her husband, Fred, in their woodworking shop. Among Bert’s many talents included: woodcarving, painting, sewing, needlepoint, writing poetry, and authoring books. Bert was the creator of HoBert, the bear, and made over 200 bears for others. She enjoyed singing old hymns and old timey music as well as clogging and performed many times wearing costumes she made. Bert would want to be remembered most for loving and serving the Lord with all her heart, mind, and body. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fred, and 2 of her brothers and sisters. Survivors include: Sons Joe Roosa, Bill (Bev) Roosa, and Patrick Roosa, 8 grandchildren, close friend and caregiver for the last 10 years, Pam Roark Gibbs, and 5 brothers. Visitation will be held Friday, January 19, 2018 from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Ave. Middletown, OH 45005. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
