Dick A. Grund

Grund, Richard Allan, age 88, died Friday, October 20, 2017 at Mt. Pleasant in Monroe, Ohio. Dick was the son of Hy and Cecelia of Middletown, Ohio and lived most of his life there. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Harlan. Also his first wife, Joyce and second wife, Jo. Dick is survived by his loving companion of the past 15 years, Martha (Marty) Shea, his children from his first marriage, Scott (Carey) Grund, Charles Grund, Cecilee (Paul) Harper, as well as his step-son, Fred Gillespie. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Dick was an independent businessman in the industrial packaging industry. He served as past President of the Middletown Jaycees, owned two of his own packaging plants, and later became a successful sales representative. Dick was a smart, kind, polite, caring man and will be greatly missed. The memories of his sense of humor, stories, and random singing & dancing, will keep a smile on the faces of those who knew and loved him. A heartfelt thanks to the staff at Mt. Pleasant for the past 3 years of care and to Vitas Hospice. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of your choice.
