Geraldine Cruse

Cruse, Geraldine Lou “Gerry”, age 88, of Monroe, Ohio, beloved wife of Olin P. Cruse for 66 years, passed away peacefully Monday, July 10, 2017 surrounded by her family at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. She was born in Trenton, Ohio on July 6, 1929 to Russell and Edna (Shafer) Womack. Gerry graduated in 1947 from Trenton High School and she attended Miami Valley Nurse’s Training, received her RN in 1950. Gerry was devoted to her family and friends. She was a gracious and loving Mother and Grandmother. She was an active member of Breiel Blvd. First Church of God, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Joy Circle. She enjoyed traveling with the Older Adult group at the church and participating in their activities and service projects. Gerry was involved in her local community, being both a Brownie and Girl Scout Troop Leader for the Great Rivers Girl Scout Council. She also volunteered at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Community for many years. Gerry was preceded in death by her father, Russell Womack, mother, Edna Jones, and a half-sister Shirley Naudin. She is survived by her husband Olin Cruse, 3 children, Crista Cruse, Lisa (Mark) Carrozza, Jennifer Cruse and 1 granddaughter Marisa Carozza, 2 half-brothers, Bob (Sandie) Womack of Arizonia, Richard (Bonnie) Womack of Florida, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, OH 45005. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Eric Newell officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
