Harlen South

South, Harlen McCoy, age 78, of Middletown, went to sleep Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Atrium Medical Center. He was born May 24, 1939 in Orange, VA to Mart and Martha (Taulbee) South. He was a supervisor in the shipping departments at Miami Carey and Xerox where he later retired. He loved to travel, including many cross-country trips on Route 66 and enjoyed his beloved pets. In his later years, Harlen attended Sts. Constantine and Helen with his family. His greatest joy in life was his family and he treasured every moment with them. Harlen is survived by his daughter, Krista Marie South of Middletown; brother, Elmer South; several nieces, nephews and cousins; dog, Kirby. His parents preceded him in death; wife, Esther J. South; brothers, Edward South, Kenneth South; sister, Betty Bush. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 11:00-12:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, OH 45005. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Father William Cassis officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sts.
