Lecil G. Townsend

Townsend, Lecil G., age 86, of Franklin, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at his residence. He was born November 15, 1930 in Haleyville, AL to Roy and Verdie (Risner) Townsend. He was a Supervisor – Vice President for Mecco Inc. for 38 years and was owner of Townsend Used Cars. Lecil was a member of Eastview Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He would help anyone he could. He enjoyed farming, gardening, fast cars, antiques, Alabama football and was devoted to God. Lecil is survived by his daughter, Melissa F. (Robert Blake)Townsend of Franklin, OH; grandchildren, Lori (Jay) Repp, Melissa Bolen, Claudine (Adam) Palmer, Daniel Townsend, Katie (Evan)Wilson, Emily Townsend, Sean Townsend, Aaron Blake; great – grandchildren, Cole Repp, Lexi Repp, Daniel Bolen, Charlie Burnett, Kary Townsend, Christian and Cameron Palmer, Eleanor Wilson; brothers, Jesse Townsend, Lloyd Townsend; sisters, Christine Berry, Jane (Ira) Pendley. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Lou (Courington) Townsend; daughter, Debbra Golden; sons, Danny (Mary) Townsend; cousin, Steve Townsend; granddaughter, Celestia Lou Stidhim. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, OH 45005. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Duane Tillford officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
