Mel was top notch. He would come in my store and hang out on a weekly basis and we got to be very close. My wife and I adored him and he will be truly missed. Mel had a heart of gold and always thought about and put others first. He spoke very highly of family and he was that to us and we loved him dearly.

Some of my best childhood memories include Mel. Inside that tough outer shell Was a huge heart. He was always there for my family. I spent a lot of time with him growing up. He loaned me the money for my first car when I was 16. Took me to car auctions in Mt. Sterling, shooting ranges, and so much more. I hate that I lost contact with him over the last few years. He always had a great story to tell and an ear to listen. My heart goes out to his family, the 3 sons he left behind and Regina. he will be missed by so many that knew him.

My brother leaves behind three sons, ALL of whom I care deeply about, Robin and Chris, whose mother Judy, Mel's first wife (since departed), And John Scott, Mel's last wife (though they were estranged) who survives him, and the daughter of Dana Dunn, Cortney, whom he looked upon as his own daughter.

Time is always too short, words never enough, distances too far. Rest in peace, little brother.
