Albert Guessford

GUESSFORD, Albert Edward “Al”, age 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 5th, 2018, surrounded by friends and family. Born to Catherine and Samuel Guessford during the summer equinox, June 21st, 1939 in Clear Springs, Maryland. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Fay Belle Colston, Fred Guessford, Freida Smith, Wayne Palmer and Lawrence Guessford. Albert served in the US Army as PFC from 1960-1962. He was an avid car enthusiast and long-time member of the Middletown Pacemakers Hot Rod Club. He retired from Jefferson Smurfit and continued to drive cars for Adesa of Franklin. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Dowrey Guessford, 3 daughters, Janice (Eddie) Delk, Lori (Marty) Collins, and Amy (Duane) Wooton. He leaves behind 8 grandchildren, Nathan (Ali) Delk, Rebecca (Steven) Wolfenberger, Bradley (Michelle) Collins, Timothy (Amy) Collins, Matthew (Kristina) Collins, and Victoria, Ethan and Rachel Wooton, along with 10 great grandchildren. He was loved by many for his witty sense of humor and those who were lucky enough to be given a nickname will know that he deeply cherished your friendship. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, but we are soliced in that he has now found peace. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 12:00- 2:00 p.m. at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Ave. Middletown, OH 45005. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Courtney Hollon officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
