Dallas Retherford

Dallas Retherford, 79 years old of Middletown, Ohio passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 at his residence. He was born September 22, 1941 in Owsley County, Ky on September 22, 1941 to Charlie and Gertrude (Taylor) Retherford. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962 when he received an honorable discharge. He worked at General Motors for 30 years as an inspector, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Crosspointe Church of Christ where he served the Lord with all of his heart. Dallas was always there with a smile and a cup of coffee. He volunteered in so many areas of the church. He will leave big shoes to fill. Dallas is survived by his wife of 61 years, Loretta (Donathan) Retherford, children, Mike (Jill) Retherford, Todd (Anita) Retherford, Shawn (Mary) Retherford, Darren (Tracy) Retherford; grandchildren, Nikki, Chris, Michael, Kevin, Brad, Josh, and Kaleigh; Great-grandchildren, Dallas, Connor, and Corbin; siblings, John (Candy) Retherford, Danny (Brenda) Retherford, Wayne Robbins, Charles (Jean) Robbins, and Betty Robbins. He is preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Susie Retherford, brothers, Raymond Retherford, Marion “Groucho” Retherford, and Bill Retherford; sisters, Etta Bell Gray, Hazel Combs, and Ethel Creager. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Hospice of Dayton for the loving care that Dallas received in his last days. Dallas is in the care of Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday, July 15 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Crosspointe Church of Christ 5630 St Rt 122 Middletown, Ohio 45005 with the funeral service following at 7:00 p.m. with Hugh Howard officiating. Interment will be at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens, 1639 E Lytle-Five Points Rd, Centerville, Ohio 45458 on Friday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton 325 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
