Obituary

Dawn Lorene Snethen, age 56, passed away January 15, 2022. Dawn was born on May 21, 1965 in Gregory, South Dakota to the late Richard Reldon and Dorothy Mae Snethen.  She resided in Sioux Falls, SD where she was actively involved in children’s ministry at New Hope Family Church for many years.  In the fall of 2011, Dawn decided that she would make a big move to Ohio with her best friend’s family: Holly & Jimmy Jackson.  Dawn was “Aunt Dawn” to all four of the Jackson boys and the Jackson family considered Dawn part of their family.  Dawn instantly jumped into children’s ministry working with Jim and helping in any capacity that she could with the children’s department. Dawn enjoyed the puppet ministry with kids, arts and crafts, running vacation Bible Schools and anything that involved children.   Dawn was a giver, she loved to help others and anything or anyone that needed help if she was able to do it, she did. Dawn had a heart for the Lord and for people; her caring and loving heart was evident to everyone that she knew and came across; Dawn was a perfect example of being Jesus to others.  Dawn was a professional dog groomer and when she moved to Ohio she found a long time job for a mobile dog grooming company.  Dawn started working for Muddy Mutts Mobile Pet Grooming, January 31, 2011, she would have celebrated 10 years with Muddy Mutts at the end of January. Tammy, Dawn’s employer, has always said that she was one of the best employees she has had and will be greatly missed.   All of Dawn’s customers and clients absolutely loved her and have said multiple times that she was such a joy to be around.  To know Dawn was to love Dawn.  She is survived by her siblings Dan Snethen, Karen (Craig) Sheely, JulieAnn Farley, Ron (Jeanne) Snethen; two nephews Tony Snethen, Ben Snethen; two nieces Kimberly Stroup and Juliette Zea.  A visitation will take place at Lewis Street Worship Center, 720 S Breiel Blvd, Middletown, Ohio 45044 on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 2:00pm-3:30pm with a funeral service to follow at 3:30pm.  Burial will take place at The Winner City Cemetery in Winner, South Dakota at a later date.  Arrangements are in the care of Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, Middletown, Ohio. www.bakerstevensparramore.com
