Obituary

Garold Allen Schudel, age 75, passed away on the morning of Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Randall Residence of Centerville, Ohio.  He was born to the late Howard Schudel and Arvella Ruth Stein on June 8, 1946 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.  Garold graduated from Coshocton High School, Capital University and Ohio State Dental School.  Garold was a Veteran and Captain in the United States Army serving as a Dentist from 1971-1973.  In 1973 he began practicing Dentistry in Monroe until 2006. Garold and his wife, Ruth Ann Schudel were married for 25 years and enjoyed traveling the world, camping, wintering in Florida, geocaching (he had 6,000 caches in 49 states and 12 countries) and most of all volunteering at Ding Darling NWR on Sanibel Island, FL.  Gary was an avid bicyclist and for 43 years he participated in the 200 mile Tour of the Scioto River Valley (TOSRV).  After a few years he joined the Cincinnati Cycle Club and added another 200 miles on that Mother’s Day weekend ride to achieve 400 miles in four days.  Gary was a member of the Monroe Lions Club, Dayton Ski Club and National Rifle Association.  Garold is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Ann Hendrixson Schudel; children Heidi (David) Ranard Peeples, Erich (Pam Owens) Schudel; step children Renee Euler (Nathan Schroeder), Matthew (Shannon) Boston, Nicholas (Leah) Boston; Grandchildren Grace Ranard, Jackson Ranard, Kat Peeples, Trevor Rowe, Makaden Schudel, Parker Boston, Isla Boston, Evelyn Boston, Eli Boston, sister Cheryl Bloomfield, nephews, family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  A visitation will take place at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Ave, Middletown, Ohio 45005 on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 5:00pm-7:00pm with a funeral service to follow on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 10:00am. Violeta Gwynn, Vitas Healthcare Chaplain, will be officiating the service.  Burial will take place on Thursday at Mound Cemetery in Monroe.  Memorial donations can be made to DingDarlingWildlifeSociety.org or Alzheimer’s Association.
