Gerald L. Velde

Gerald L. “Jerry” Velde, 79 of Middletown passed away on July 14, 2022 at his residence. He was born on December 17, 1942 in Middletown to Joseph & Helen (Robinson) Velde. Jerry served our country serving in the U.S. Army during Vietnam from 1967-1968, where he received a Purple Heart. He worked for AK Steel for over 30 years as a Uke Driver, retiring in 2003. He was a former Volunteer Fireman for the Excello Fire Dept. and then Lesourdsville Lake Fire Dept. Jerry is survived by his sisters, Carol Mobley and Janet (Randy) Murphy; his brothers, Joseph (Mae) and David (Diane) Velde and grandchildren, James, Jacob, Abigail and Isaac, great-grand daughter, Rose Blankenship and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ronald and Tommy Velde and daughter, Krista Tibbs. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home 6850 Roosevelt Avenue.
