Joe Hembree, age 79, of Germantown, Ohio passed away August 18, 2021 at Sycamore Hospital. He was born on December 30, 1941 to Walter and Rosie (Coffey) Hembree in Berea, Kentucky. He lived most of his life around the Germantown, Ohio area. He graduated from Carlisle High School. He was a member of the National Guard. He worked as a switchman on the railroad for Armco Steel Corporation for 35 years, retiring in 1998. He loved his kids and grandchildren. If you knew Joe, you would know that he loved to talk, always had a good story to tell, he never knew a stranger. He enjoyed fishing and coon-hunting. Joe is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bonnie (Dalton), children: Gelinda, (Ken) Gedelian, Tom (Regina) Hembree, Gary (Nickol) Hembree, Darrel (Debbie) Hembree, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, sisters; Leoita (Curt) Hicks, Mary Davidson, brother; James (Pat) Hembree, and numerous nieces and nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Doris Cox and Lois Kramer, bothers; Glendal Hembree and Kenneth Hembree. Visitation will be Monday, August 23, 2021 at Baker-Stevens-Parramore 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, Ohio from 11:00-1:00 p.m. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Hall officiating.
