Joy (Maloney) Taylor was born on April 12, 1931 to Millard Fillmore Maloney and Lillie Belle Rose Maloney. She passed away on March 3, 2020 in her home with her 3 daughters by her side. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, siblings: Annette, Elyatta, Faye, Claudia, George Donovan and William; husband William Sherman Taylor, Sr; her son, William Sherman Taylor, Jr. and grandson, Phillip Mynhier. She is survived by her daughters, Sherri Robinson, Donovan Osborne, and Tonya Nicolette Mynhier; grandchildren: William Sherman Taylor, III, Kenny Robinson, Joseph Taylor, Taylor Osborne, Anna Robinson, Gabrialle Osborne, Rachel Elkins, Lilliann Osborne-Durst, and Gregory Robinson; great-grandchildren: Brittannie Michelle, Maggie, Gaige, Lourdes, Dakota, Kaleb, Christian, Braden, Liam, Norah, Kensley, Kendra, and Grace; Great-grandchildren: Dominick, Gabe, Cane, Oliver, and Delaney. Joy was a cosmetology teacher for 20 years and retired from AK Steel. Upon retiring Joy began her work as a scholar, as an overseas missionary and a minister. During that time Joy obtained her Masters degree in Theology. She was an avid member of Aglow where she spoke often. Joy loved to host Bible Studies and Prayer Groups in her home for many years and was recognized as a intercessory prayer warrior. Joy proudly worked with the Christian Coalition for Jews, worked in Israeli Army along General Daveed and smuggled Bibles into communist China, and was recognized for her volunteer work in Israel. Joy had a passion for travel domestically and internationally. Among her travels included many missionary trips to places such as China, Israel and Mexico where she contributed in relief efforts for underdeveloped and impoverished areas. Family was Joy's most valued treasure and often expressed how blessed she felt to have such a loving family to have lived such a full, unique life. Joy was an amazing person who was loved by many and her legacy will live on through her beloved family and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 11:00-1:00 pm at Stratford Heights Church of God, 4419 Nelson Rd., Middletown, OH 45044. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 pm at the church with Pastor Ray Phillips officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
