Mable Corene Parker

Mable Corene Parker, of Xenia, Ohio left this world peacefully at her home on May 25, 2022 at 2:10 a.m. Mable was born on June 21, 1931 in Middletown, Ohio to Howard and Lucy (Rose) McAlister. She graduated from Lathum High School in Lathum, Ohio. She was a devoted loving mother of four. She was a devoted wife to Harold, to whom she spent 60 glorious years. Mable was a tough, fiery spirit. She devoted her life to her children and family. She loved her childhood in Kentucky, where she grew up. She always loved to visit a small church there that her grandfather built and her father was a pastor. She loved to raise a garden and loved her flowers. She was a fantastic cook. Oftentimes, she could be found quilting or crocheting.
Mable is survived by her husband, Harold Parker; son, Randy and Julie Surgenor; her daughters, Nell and Ed Hill, and Michelle and Luis Gallardo, son, Mike and Connie Surgenor. Further survived by several grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Howard and Lucy (McAlister) and step-father, David McElwain, sister, Nellavene Cottongim, brother, Johnnie McAlister, and baby sister, Loma McAlister.
We know that we can’t have you but we are happy knowing that the angels have finally got you back. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and a beautiful mother.
There will be a service for those who would like to reminisce, grieve, support and to say their last goodbyes on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home 1500 Manchester Avenue, Middletown 45042 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Mike Hodges will be officiating. Interment will be at Miltonville Cemetery, 5825 Howe Road, Trenton, Ohio 45067. After the services, the family will share a dinner in celebration of Mable’s life at Bowersville Fellowship Hall (Church of Christ) 3138 Maysville, Bowersville, Ohio 45307. The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful assistance and passionate care-giving by Hospice of Dayton.
