Mark Richard Slaughter, 59, of Spring Valley, OH passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020. Mark was born December 20, 1960 to Richard O. and Emma Joyce (Minton) Slaughter in Akron, Ohio. Mark was a gifted musician. As a youth, he participated in school bands, the Licking County 4-H Band and was chosen for the All–Ohio State Fair Band. After graduating from Licking Valley High School in 1979, Mark became a member of the 661st Air Force Band of Flight at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH. As well as being a musician, Mark was a gifted artist. He loved working with his hands to create beautiful things out of wood.
