Stoops, Michael, age 69, of Middletown, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Hospice of Butler and Warren County. He was born August 26, 1948 in Middletown, OH to Jack and Patricia (Stokes) Stoops. He proudly served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a rigger at A/K Steel for 38 years, retiring in 2006. Michael was a member of the VFW Post 3809 for 47 years, where he served as commander and was also an all American Commander. He was a member of American Legion - Middletown. He was an avid Indy car fan. Michael is survived by his wife of 47 years, Helen (Barker) Stoops; daughters, Ann Marie Johnson of Middletown, Natalie (Rick) Watts of Middletown; grandchildren, Nicholas (Dani) Watts, Alexandria Watts, Maggie Watts, Emily Johnson; mother, Patricia (Stokes) Stoops; brother, Ritch (Jenny) Stoops of Middletown; numerous family and friends; beloved dog Brutus. A special thanks to all the staff in the CTU unit at Atrium Medical Center. His father precedes him in death. Visitation will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, OH 45005. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
