Ova Kakaris

Ova “Papaw” Kakaris, age 86 of Franklin, Ohio passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Atrium Medical Center. He was born August 12, 1935 to Peter and Elvira (Robinson) Kakaris in Jackson, Kentucky. He worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation for 30 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Abundant Life Tabernacle in Germantown, Ohio. He was a former member of Heavenly Highway Tabernacle. He loved playing bluegrass and gospel music on his guitar and mandolin. He like to watch westerns and classic cartoons. He loved everyone, never met a stranger, he always had a kind word to say, greeting everyone with a hug or kiss. He always put others first. His favorite saying “Don’t go away mad, just go away!” He never complained and loved the Lord with all his heart. Ova is survived by his children; Mark (Debbie) Kakaris, Roni (Ken) Byrd, Sherry Jackson, Billie Jean Neal, ex-son-in-law, Foster Neal, grandchildren; Kristi (Robbie) Caudle, David (Misty) Kakaris, Kari (Will) Conley, Janni (Jason) South, Tracey (Bob) Barnes, Timothy Groves, Kayla Kretschmer, Karisa (Sean) Scott, Gregory Jackson, Logan (ex-spouse Allie) Neal, Jesse (Cheryl) Neal, Carrin “Beth” (Brennon) Wills, “granddaughter” Judie Beatty, 19 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren, brother; Ben (Ilene) Kakaris, sister; Mary (Ed) Neace. He is preceded in death by his wife in 2004; Beatrice “Rachelle” Kakaris, parents, great grandchildren; Dakota Conley, Joey South, son-in-law; John Jackson, siblings; Louis Kakaris, Fred Kakaris, Lola Sargent, Lula Sorrell, and Oma Hollon. Ova is in the care of Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home. Visitation and Funeral will be held at Abundant Life Tabernacle 9440 Eby Road, Germantown, Ohio 45327 on Saturday, October 30. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service is at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Setser officiating. He did not like the color black so wearing something different would be ok.
