Patricia Raye Lawson

January 11, 1940 ~ May 10, 2023 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Obituary

On May 10, 2023, Patricia Raye (Mays) Lawson passed away after a tough battle with Alzheimer’s, at the age of 83.  She was born in Slade, Kentucky on January 11, 1940 to the late Marvin (Blanche) Mays and Virgie (June) Estridge.  She graduated from Lemon-Monroe High School in 1958.  On December 21, 1957, she married Ova Ray Lawson.  They were married 38 years until his passing in 1995.  She is survived by their four children, Kathy Lawson, Sheila Renee’ (Doug) Thompson, Ronald Ray (Tari) Lawson, and SuzAnn Raye Lawson. From her kids, came 5 grandchildren, Brandi (Brad) Bradley, Brandon (Jennifer) Thompson, Danielle (Jamie) Morris, Lacy (Cody) Robinson, Megan (Zach) Beavan, and 8 great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Aleshia Bradley, Lucas Wayne (Kiersten) Bradley, Ruby June Thompson, Olivia Grace Thompson, Foster Allen Robinson, Vera Sue Beavan, Elliette Raye Robinson, and River James Male.  She is also survived by her sisters, Louise Braden, Frankie Martin, brothers Rick (Diane) Mays, and Kendall (Barbara) Mays, and her brother-in-law and good buddy, Oscar Lawson, also numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pat was a loving mother first, started her career later in life and retired as a Senior Tax Preparer at H & R Block for almost 20 years.  She was a skilled seamstress, self-taught painter, an avid gardener and enjoyed crafting.  She spent many hours of her time working on our Family Tree and also her graduating class of 1957 reunions.

Pat was proceeded in death by her parents and step-parents, her husband Ova Ray Lawson, her brother G.B. (Faye) Mays and her dear great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Aleshia Bradley.  The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the nurses and aides at Queen City Hospice and Gateway Springs Health Campus for the loving care they provided to Patricia. Family and friends are welcome to reminisce and celebrate her life on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 1500 Manchester Avenue, Middletown, Ohio 45042. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow immediately after the burial at the St. Clair Township Community Center.
