Richard Lynn Hapner, 67, of Gratis, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Richard retired from Advics Manufacturing in 2017. He was a 1969 graduate of National Trail High School. He was an avid Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds, and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He loved American history and was a long time Civil War Reenactor. A member of the Berachah Baptist Church in Middletown, OH, he was above all a devoted husband, father, grandfather and follower of Christ. He was born on August 30, 1951 in Greenville, Ohio, the son of the late Robert L. Hapner and the late Helen (Hoffman) Hapner. Along with his parents, Richard was preceded in death by wife Truda Hapner, daughter, Nikkole Lynn Hapner, and sister, Barbara Corson. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Hapner of Gratis, OH; son Joshua (Melody) Hapner; step-sister Marsha Hansen; step-son Jason (Renee) Lewis; step-daughter Jane (Matt) Williams; step-son Jonathan Lewis; step-daughter Julie (Chris) Boone; step-daughter Angie (Beth) Breakfield; step-son Josh (Kim) Ashton; and grandchildren, Danielle Hapner, Jessica Hapner, Cooper Hapner, Beckett Hapner, Drew Williams (Krista), Luke Williams, Lexi Williams, Karter McQuiston, Ashton McQuiston, Zach Boone, Caitlyn Boone, Kristen Boone, Connor Ashton, Cassie Boone; and great-granddaughter Maddie Boone. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Berachah Baptist Church in Middletown, Ohio and funeral services immediately following at 12:00 p.m with Rev. Lamar Ferrell officiating. Interment will be held at Fairmount Cemetery in Camden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berachah Baptist Church, 1900 Johns Road, Middletown, Ohio 45044.
