Stover, Richard P. “Dick”, 89 of Middletown passed away on Saturday, July 22nd at Astoria Nursing Home in Germantown. He was born on May 18, 1928 in Middletown to Robert & Mary (Wick) Stover. Dick served our country in the US Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He worked in the Cold Strip and was a Roller for AK Steel for over 42 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Eagles and Moose Lodge all in Middletown and he was known for his carrot cakes that he gave away during the Holiday Season and he was an avid fisherman. Dick is survived by his son, Richard “Bear” Stover and fiancé’, Patti Oliver and his brother, Don Stover. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Phyllis J. Stover; his grandson, Rick Stover and several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 27th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 1500 Manchester Avenue in Middletown with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 1:00 pm with Dr. Dan Flory officiating. Burial will be at the Woodside Cemetery with military honors by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Condolences may be sent to the family @ www.bakerstevensparramore.com.
