Robert H. Francis

Robert Harrison Francis was born August 18th, 1924. His passing Occurred on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 at Hospice of Butler and Warren County. He most recently resided at Mt. Pleasant Assisted Care in Monroe, OH. His longtime residence was in Middletown, OH.
Born in Fincastle, and raised in Beattyville, KY. He is preceded in death by father Harrison Lee Francis and Mother Marie Hall Francis. Robert is also preceded in death by wife Juanita, married 46 years and second wife Irene, married 14 years.
Robert proudly served in the US Navy as a Ship fitter First Class Petty Officer on the USS Belle Grove (LSD-2). He then proceeded into a lifetime career at Armco Steel Corp. until retirement. As an active member of the Church of God on Breiel Blvd. he served in many various leadership roles.
He greatly enjoyed cards and pool with friends. His passion was playing the guitar. He was very accomplished and gifted playing by ear, self-taught and never knowing how to read sheet music. His fondest memory is receiving his first guitar at age five as a Christmas present. The guitar was from a Sears catalog.
As family patriarch he was honored to be father of four children and a step-son:
Harrison “Skip” Francis (deceased) married to Kathleen Francis of Monroe, Barbara “Kitty” March Married to Robert of Ft. White, Fla, Robert “Rob” Francis married to Suzanne Francis of Middletown, Joyce Ann (Joy) Lentes married to Richard Lentes of Ballwin, MO, and step-son Darwin Harp of San Antonio, TX.
Blessed with eight grandchildren; Alicia Reed Wallman, John Francis, Abigail Francis, Corey Francis, Michael J. Francis, Richard Lentes Jr., Blake Lentes and Dylan Lentes. Robert was proud to be a great grandfather to seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 10:00 to 12:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home at 6850 Roosevelt Ave. Middletown, OH 45005. Celebration of Life Services will follow at 12:00 pm at the Funeral Home with Reverend Eric Newell officiating. Interment will be at Mound Cemetery.
