Samuel Jeffery

Samuel Shird Jeffery, age 80 of Middletown, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Hospice of Butler/Warren County. He was born in Franklin, Ohio on September 25, 1941 to Wilbur and Thelma (Kirby) Jeffery. Sam was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1962 after serving as a Hospital Corpman for three years. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University, a Master of Science Education from University of Dayton and a PHD in Educational Leadership also, from University of Dayton. He was a chemist at Monsanto and a chemistry Professor at University of Dayton. Sam was involved with Boy Scouts for over forty years, was on Franklin City Council for two terms, was a member of Wildwood Golf Course, and in his spare time authored two books. Sam is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Nancy (Kinder) Jeffery; children, Scott (Steve) Jeffery, Cindy Jeffery, Tammy (Bobby) Cook, Rachel Runge, Jake (Becky) Runge; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one on the way, numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald Jeffery. Receiving of Friends will take place at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown 45005 Monday, March 21 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. There will be an Honor Guard Service at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 250 E.
