Sherry Kay Johnson

Sherry Kay Johnson (Vogelsang), 73 years old, of Middletown, OH was called to be with our
Lord and Savior on September 22nd, 2020. As the sun set, she was gaining her wings and
transitioning into God’s most beautiful angel.
Born on a bright Thursday afternoon on January 2nd, 1947, to Robert Vogelsang and Veleda
May Vogelsang (Heizer), Sherry went on to fulfill a beautiful life.
Sherry Kay was a lifelong resident of Middletown, OH and spent over fifty years of her life
raising children in the local community as a “Nanny.” During her years, Sherry Kay opened her
home to many and always provided a place of comfort to all. She welcomed guests over with a
warm cup of coffee; always accompanied with her bright smile and beautiful laughter. Sherry
Kay had so much love in her nurturing heart, and she was able to share that love with everyone
she encountered.
Sherry Kay is survived by her Son, Robert Eric Steele (Jennifer Lowe), her Daughter, Stephanie
Michelle Coomer (Steele), her granddaughter, Kayla Michelle Hocz (William Scott Triick), her
great-grandson, Nathaniel Blade Triick, and her dearest puppy, Teddie White Shoes Johnson.
Sherry Kay is survived by her loving sister, Pamela Fay Keith (Mark Keith), and nephew Shawn
Keith. Also surviving Sherry Kay are all of the wonderful children she helped care for over the
years, whom adorned her heart with so much pride and joy.
Sherry Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Veleda May Vogelsang (Heizer), her
beloved husband, George Wallace Johnson, and many friends over the years.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, October 10th, 2020 at “Nanny’s” home in
Middletown, OH from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Memorial contributions can be made to the
