Treva Lorraine Gross

Treva Lorraine (Prater) Gross, age 99, passed away June 2, 2022 at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties surrounded by her family. She was born to Wilgus and Lucy (Smith) Prater in Quicksand, Kentucky on April 4, 1923. She spent her life taking care and raising her family. She married Elmer Gross on the 17th of November in 1945 and began her family. She was an amazing mother and grandmother who was loved deeply by all who knew her. She was a devoted Christian who was a charter member of University Baptist Church in Middletown, not only attending since 1966 but she also avidly volunteered and gave her time there. When she wasn’t volunteering, you could find her in her garden. She spent a lot of time tending to her plants. She grew everything from vegetables to flowers. She was most proud of her berry bushes that grew along her fence. She even turned the black raspberries into the best jam and shared with all her family. She was an excellent cook! Treva is survived by her son, James (Nancy) Gross; daughters, Karen (Lanier) Norton and Kathy (Steve) Boston; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 42 years, Elmer; daughter, Patricia (Ken) Craycraft; great-grandson, Neil Combs; and seven siblings. There will be a visitation for her at Baker Stevens Parramore Funeral Home 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, 45005 on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Service will be officiated by Joshua Haas with eulogy read by Christine Combs.
