Craig, Veda L, age 83, of Parrish Florida, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Manatee Memorial Hospital. She was born in Middletown, Ohio on February 5, 1935 to Talmadge and Rebecca (Justice) Haven who were all members of Breiel Blvd (formerly Crawford Street) Church of God. Veda graduated from Middletown High School, married her high school sweetheart, JD Craig, raised a family and decided to attend Miami University Middletown to concentrate on Finance & Accounting. Using that education, she became the Finance Director for Butler County Council on Aging in Hamilton, loved the people she worked with and was proud to help coordinate the services for the elderly. She loved to play golf and thoroughly enjoyed being a member of Wildwood Golf Club socializing with her friends. Although Veda moved to Florida to be with her son’s family, she missed Ohio and continued to be an avid fan of both the Bengals and Reds. She could always be heard rooting for them on TV as if she was at the game. Mom knew we loved her and we knew she loved us. She will be forever missed but continually in our hearts. Veda is survived by her sons, Kim Craig & spouse (Anne Wuesthoff) of Arizona, Kevin Craig & spouse (Reyna) of Florida, grandchildren; Elizabeth, Nelson, Tania; and her beloved dog, Shadow. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by Jim “JD” Craig, her brother Corby Haven and her sister Erma Wendt. Visitation will be held Thursday April 12, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, OH 45005. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday April 14, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Wes Duff officiating and interment following at Woodside Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Breiel Blvd Church of God, 2000 N Breiel Blvd, Middletown, OH 45042 or Animal and Friends Humane Society, 1820 Hamilton Princeton Rd, Hamilton, OH 45011.
