Obituary

Shiflett, Walter, age 91, of Middletown, Ohio passed away September 3, 2018. He was born in Wildell, West Virginia on May 13, 1927 to Walter Shiflett Sr. and Maggie (Sheets) Shiflett. He served our country in the US Navy as a Seabee during WWII with an honorable discharge. Walter worked at Western Maryland Railroad for 11 years, where he developed a love for steam trains. He also worked at ARMCO Steel as a Crane Operator for 20 years. Walter was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Grace Shiflett; sons, Carl (Sandra) Shiflett, Jeffrey (Charla) Shiflett all of Middletown; daughters, Patricia Smith of Buckhannon, WV, Cheryl (Jeff) McKinney of Middletown; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Lonis Shiflett; and a sister, Grace Collins. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Mark Shiflett; brothers, George Shiflett, Edward Shiflett, Phillip Shiflett, Gerald Shiflett; sisters, Geneva Spiker, Glenna Shiflett, and Kathyrn Louk. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home on 6850 Roosevelt Avenue in Middletown, Ohio. A celebration of life service will follow at noon with Chaplain Galen Hoffman officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
