William Gordon Moore II

William Gordon Moore II (Gordy) passed away at the age of 81 this Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Ohio. Gordon was born on May 10, 1942, in Cambridge, Ohio to William Gordon Moore and Thelma Irene (Burson) Moore. Gordon was surrounded by family, close friends, and his pastor at his time of death. Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret Lucille Moore; his son, Robert Douglas (Debbie) Moore; his daughter, Amy Jo (Paul) Brewer; his granddaughter, Megan Leigh (Nick) Mendillo; his great granddaughters, Ava Lucia Mendillo and Isabella Joann Mendillo; and his sister, Martha J. Tullis.
Gordon was well loved by many. He spent his life serving others in various capacities beginning with his time as a sergeant with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. After his retirement from the patrol, Gordon continued to serve his community. He cared for many grieving families during his time working at Baker’s funeral home and at Enabled Ministries, a food pantry started by his church. Gordon was a faithful member of his church and served as a deacon for many years. Mostly for fun, Gordon also served as a sales associate at several men’s suit stores - anyone who knew Gordon understood that he had a keen sense of style: pressed suits, colorful ties, coordinating shoes, and not a hair out of place ever. Gordon had many passions including: golfing, fishing, spending time with his family, going on adventures like hiking out west and parasailing with his granddaughter. His most important passion in life, however, was for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with anyone he met. Gordon loved Jesus and we are confident he is resting with his Savior now. A Memorial Gathering will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Ave. Middletown, OH 45005.
